Imagine my anxiety when daughter woke up on Tuesday morning with a boiling fever. Plans to send my mum home after her SGH blood test (rather than for my dad to travel out from his office in Boon Keng) were thrown out of the window.
We keep a ready stash of basic medicines at home, mostly her old bottles from the GP as I usually switch to using TCM for her recurrent cough problem. But she had gotten a few mosquito bites from her park outing with grandpa and cousin to Pasir Ris Park. So I thought it would be more reassuring to visit the doctor. She was still fairly active and a visit to the doctor assured that it was probably just a cough and common cold, as long as the fever did not persist for more than three days.
Thus, we ended staying at home for the next 3 days. She even refused to dine out but only wanted me to cook her favourite udon for dinner. I was thus stuck at home while she was happily playing with her newest toys: two sets of rainbow looms that she had received as her upcoming birthday present and Christmas present.

She was also over the place, pulling out craft supplies that I had stashed away and having fun with them. I guess she usually does not have long periods of "me-time" at home herself, so she is openly happy that she is able to "get out of" the usual childcare/school routine. Here are some of what came out of the past 3 days
